The Joy of Losing Ourselves
That wonderful sense of losing ourselves in an activity occurs less frequently when we leave childhood.

It can happen when drawing or sewing, playing a musical instrument, analysing a chess position, playing a sport or dancing.
It can happen whenever we engage in any challenging activity not merely as a means to an end, but rather as an end in itself.
