In Moments Like These

There was a very bright flash of lightning and a very loud booming thunder near our balcony at about 4:57am yesterday. 

I had just collected the laundry from the balcony with a metal pole about five minutes earlier.

It was indeed a very, very close shave. I trembled. I shivered.
