Dear Heavenly Father

May the government treasure every citizen especially the poor, the ugly, the stupid and the unhealthy.
May their policies do not bring short-term benefits with long-term problems for the nation...

Amen!

our Pastor prayed for the nation during service this morning...

"Houston, we have a problem."
President Kennedy got our space program into high gear and the people to support the race to the moon.
We need a leader to get us going in a race to help those less fortunate you mentioned. We are charged to be their steward protectorate along with all of God's creation.
Your pastor sounds as if he might apply the wisdom of Solomon if he were appointed to the job. :-)

Thanks for looking at my poem. I have no definite style, I am experiminting as I go. Have you looked at any others. I don't have a lot of flowery words in my recall vocabulary. I might like to write cowboy poetry except that I am not the cowboy type.
I can't hide over there, can I? :-)
You could try some of our prompts, next week it is 'Fog' inspired by 'Sweetest in the Gale', formerly 'Fledgling Poet.'
