Being alone in the country
With neither parents nor siblings
Relatives are staying abroad
She had an operation a few days ago

The Voice told me to visit my friend
She was just being wheeled out
from the operation theatre
When I was guided to her bedside
by a very caring nurse

DO NOT GO BEYOND THE RED LINE
Was painted along the borders
of the huge observatory ward
It was a new environment to me
Actually friends are not allowed in

Wearing a protective robe and footwear
I walked very gingerly over to my friend
I held her hands tightly
I am glad I listened to The Voice
